About PMWA
The Paper Merchants’ Welfare Association, Andhra Pradesh, established in 1973 and registered in 1996 (Regd. 142/1996), is an association of paper merchants, traders, distributors and allied businesses. The association provides a common platform for its members to discuss trade matters, represent the community before authorities, and support one another through welfare initiatives.
Established in 1973 and registered in 1996 (Regd. 142/1996), PMWA was formed by paper merchants who saw the value of speaking with one voice. Today the association has 234 life members across 23 cities of Andhra Pradesh and an active managing committee that meets regularly to guide its work. PMWA also plays an active part in the Federation of Paper Traders Associations of India (FPTA): one of our members has served as FPTA President and several as FPTA Vice Presidents, 17 of our members are FPTA life members, and Vijayawada has hosted three FPTA managing committee meetings. In 2025 the association received the Kagaz Ratna award at the FPTA AGM in Chennai for celebrating National Paper Day at 19 of its 23 centres across the state.
