Our Parent Body
PMWA is an affiliated association of the Federation of Paper Traders’ Associations of India (FPTA). Here are our members who serve FPTA, and the association’s part in the national paper trade.
The Federation of Paper Traders’ Associations of India (FPTA), headquartered in Mumbai, is the national body of the paper trade. Its roots go back to 1953, when traders came together in Delhi to get a government order on newsprint withdrawn; FPTA held its first national conference in Mumbai in 1959. Today it unites 36 affiliated associations and more than 10,000 paper traders across India, represents the trade before government and industry, and promotes paper as a renewable, recyclable and sustainable product. The Paper Merchants’ Welfare Association, Vijayawada is one of FPTA’s affiliated associations.
